    Are Trailer Tents Worth It?

If you are someone that regularly goes on overlanding trips or even camping trips with your decked-out off-road vehicle you might doubt that you need a trailer tent at all. Because why not just mount your tent on the roof of your vehicle or even on your truck bed, right?

While having a trailer tent might not be necessary for your next off-road adventure it sure has its advantages. As we all know, the roof of your vehicle can only take as much weight load and sometimes you might not be able to mount that bigger or heavier roof top tent that you desire.

Also having a roof top tent on your roof causes more aerodynamic drag and wind noise that decrease fuel efficiency. Well with a trailer tent you don’t have to worry about those things! Since the trailer sits much lower than your truck bed, wind resistance is nonexistent! Also depending on the size of your trailer, you can mount a much bigger or heavier tent than you could on the roof of your vehicle!

The only downside of having a trailer tent is that using an annex can be problematic since the trailer sits so low. However, that can also be fixed using Trailer Tower Systems!
